about
Throughout these pages, I'll be chatting with you using the first person voice. I'm a solo practitioner. It's just me in my studio.
my work
Although I'm licensed as a massage therapist (LMT), I just hate calling my work massage. The word tends to have you imagine something spa-like. That is not an appropriate image for you to have when coming to see me. I am more of a body mechanic, a very patient one. I think in terms of anatomy and patterns of movement and posture. I know what pain in soft tissue feels like under my hands. It's brittle and tangled. I can palpate patterns of tension in your body and come to a good understanding of what you are likely doing to cause them.
During your treatment, I focus specifically on the areas that cause you problems. Soft tissue in its healthy state is just that - soft. Returning suppleness to your tissues relieves your pain and allows you to move more freely. In a nutshell, that is what I do and it certainly requires patience.
my background
I have a BS in Appllied Mathematics. I was born a problem solver. I started Salubris in 2006 after graduating from the Muscular Therapy Institute. I'm a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and am licensed by the Commonweath of Massachusetts. My own pain brought me to this career. Before this gig, I worked as a business / systems analyst and software developer.
my humor
For marketing pieces, I've always used images of people being active, doing what they love to do. Keeping you in your game is the goal of my work. Some imagery I'm using on this site makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile, too.
my free time
I spend a lot of free time outside, removing lawn, installing native plantings, and enjoying the life that brings. So much fun!
